The General Assembly is not in session this week but we wanted you to know about two events that are taking place next Saturday.
 

 
 
 
SATURDAY, APRIL 26   “The Great Ocean State Debate” to be held at URI, hosted by the RI Center for Freedom and Prosperity and moderated by GoLocalProv. Well known national pundits will debate the issue of whether there should be more government in our lives or less.  Steve Moore, from Fox News and Rich Benjamin from MSNBC will debate with local RIFuture contributor Tom Sgouros and Forbes.com contributor Don Watkins.      
 
The debate begins at 9:30 am in Swan Hall, URI.  Admission is free but registration (http://www.rifreedom.org/2014/04/10639/ ) is preferred.

SATURDAY, APRIL 26   The “2014 Candidate School” to be held at RIC, hosted by Operation Clean Government. This all day event is for anyone who is considering running for an elected office or for anyone who will be assisting or recruiting anyone running for office.  Speakers will include RI leaders - former Congressman Bob Weygand, former Attorney General Arlene Violet and former RI Supreme Court Justice Bob Flanders.
 
The session runs from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.  Admission is $75 and you must register ahead of time. http://www.ocgri.org
